Hey fellow Ohioan. Welcome! I carry for the exact same reason. As I read your intro I saw you stated "in restaurants", just remember, that is not allowed in Ohio just yet if the place you are in serves alcohol. That is an important one to remember. It's not a problem til they make it one!
Welcome to the forum from another Ohioan. I also carry a full size 1911. Give Galco belts and holsters a look. While a custom rig might be ideal, Galco isn't bad and a whole lot cheaper than custom! I have both an Avenger OWB and a Summer Special IWB which I wear depending on the weather and my clothing choices. I use a Galco or a Wilderness Instructor belt. You'll probably buy a few holsters until you find the "one" that best suits "you".

Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Good reminder regarding most restaurants, the list of places that come to mind that don't serve any alcohol is pretty slim. Here's hoping they fix the law on that one!
