    forgot to say hi...from texas

    O.K. Hi.
    But seriously, like others - I found the forum after google'n around for something. I read a few posts, and decided to join to share when I can give an honest opinion or advice based on experience - not what I "heard" three lanes down at the range. The "interwebs" is our greatest friend and worst enemy when it comes to gun culture 2.0 - of which I am guilty of joining. My father was the only man in my family to not become a police officer - or hunter for that matter.
    So while I wasn't raised around guns, I have always been interested in all things mechanical. Most of my forum reading and posting has been in automotive and DIY home forums. I began shooting skeet on family land, then moved on to pistols, rifles, AR's and their proper applications. Then took the CHL course and began daily carry after interupting a few burglaries in progress at work. Now it's all second nature. I wonder sometimes how many of you come here from an origin like that rather than "I've been shooting since I was 2". I don't have a facebook page because I talk to my friends to their face. And yet there is something to be said about the collective intellect that we gather from like-minded individuals in a place like this which helps us to shoot straight and B.S., joke and pray, cry and laugh etc...when I became aware of my need and enjoyment of firearms, I transfered some of my time and effort to reading objective banter from other rednecks like me with a love of GOD, the USA, and cold blue steel going BOOM is my hand. So howdy from Texas. See yall around.
