    Hello from Colorado

Hey everyone, I applied for my permit here in CO a little over a week ago along with the lady. We'll see how long it takes, the few people we asked who were at the county building picking theirs up said it took about 6-7 weeks. Here's hoping anyway. :) Its funny that I can get approved to buy a gun in 90 seconds, but it takes up to 90 days to get a permit.

Anyhow, I've owned guns for many years, but have been on a bit of a buying spree as of late. The first one I bought a few weeks back is a beautiful Sig P229 dual tone, and I decided that was a bit large/heavy to carry around, so I'll save it for personal enjoyment at the range etc. Awesome gun though, I've always wanted one. I bought a Ruger LC9 and took it to the range a few times -- hated it. So unpleasant to shoot that I didn't want to practice with it. If I'm unwilling to practice with it and become proficient with the thing, I'm not going to carry it then. Traded it in.

I picked up this Springfield XD sub-compact in 9mm last week for primary carry (planning OWB -- can't seem to get comfortable with an IWB holster in my tests at home). I took it to the range a few days ago and its great. I was pretty accurate with it right out of the box. It was between this and a Glock 19 and I went back and forth for about 30 minutes before choosing this one. I'd like to have the Glock eventually as well, but went with this due to size and the web safety. I didn't like the Glock 26 in my hand (a more fair size comparison):

And here is the back-up or slightly smaller carry option if I so desire or need. I got this one on Friday along with a P22 for plinking, haven't shot either yet. Bersa Thunder 380 duotone:

    Question to FL,
Hey I have heard only rumors of FL no longer issuing "Non-Resident" CCW permits. Do you know if this is true or not? I would like to save the time and money if they are not. Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone! Yes I will probably add a Glock to the collection at some point. I've got a full sized Beretta Storm that I'm deadly accurate with, but its too big to carry. I nearly bought the subcompact version for an EDC gun, but liked the trigger and web safety on the XD for something I'm going to have with me all the time...
