Greetings from california
Greetings to all. I registered on this forum in 2008, but have not posted before now. I did not have a CCW.
We just elected a Constitution loving Sheriff here in El Dorado County Ca. who has made obtaining a CCW possible for law abiding citizens.
I am in the process now, and should have the license within a few weeks. I found this link in my bookmarks and realized I was already a member.
I read the forum for about a hour last night and I am happy to have found this place again. Quality information, quality individuals, and a group which shares my own Patriotic sensibilities.
I have been a weapons enthusiast all my life. I have several weapons in the handgun, rifle, shotgun categories. I have always carried a pistol albeit not on my person but in a vehicle or pack etc. I have much to learn about CCW holster carry. I have trained at Gunsite (250) a couple of times, and I will be taking a tactical CCW class in Boise in 2 weeks from a very well known trainer. I believe in training.
I am primarily a 1911 guy and have 4 of them. Colt Gold Cup series 70, Kimber TLE/RL, S&W Gunsite PD (Commander size), also an HK P7 (9mm), and for CCW i have just purchased a Kimber Ultra CDP II, and a Rugar LC 9.
For defense, as they say, "I like my pistol, but I LOVE my shotgun."
That being said, I believe the rifle is the most requisite weapon for a citizen.
Thank you Gentlemen for allowing me to participate on your forum, and I look forward to learning much from you all, and perhaps being able to contribute some knowledge as well.

Welcome back, and congratulations on your new, sensible Sheriff. And, just a note - there are a lot of gentle ladies here as well!
