    Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Welcome from SW TN...correction TN issues a HCP, (handgun carry permit), not a CCL, (concealed carry license). ;o)

    Welcome to the forum.

The distinction that orangevol is making is that HCP includes open carry (OC).

My TN HCP class instructor, Mr. Leroy Farris, in July of '08, didn't recommend OC to the class. It's an ongoing debate not only here but in most carry forums that I know of. Something to consider, but to each his own.

That was my first certified training class, but I've taken four others (eight days) including another one from Leroy since then.
