    Cheers, mate!
    Let me ask you something....please?

Why would they NOT retire to the USA?

Back in my day in the UK, we could still basically own firearms 'fairly' easily, - although obviously not carry concealed etc.
I bought my first 12g shotgun, - a Mossberg pump at 16 (legally,) in 1976, my first handgun, a .22/.22 magnum Ruger Single Six at 17, and my first 1911, (a Series 70 Government,) at 18, just after my 18th birthday.

I swapped the Single Six (stupid, - it was the "Made in the 200th year of American Independence" model,) for a Colt .22 Conversion unit in 1979.
    1980, - I bought my 4 inch brl S&W M29. - Rebated cylinders.
Then a bunch of other stuff including a Colt AR 15 Sporter, L1A1 FAL, Ruger .308 Varminter, both 12g Winchester Models' 1897 & M12, an Ithaca M37, 1944 Lee Enfield No 4T (Sniper model,) and other less interesting guns.

Half of this stuff cannot be owned legally by private citizens in the UK anymore!

So I must ask.......why would a gun loving 'Brit' NOT want to move to the USA?

Many "welcomes" folks, and I must thank you all together.

    Yes, there are stories.
    All in good time.
I'm a "newbie" here, so I will go slowly.

I like to read threads and learn, and add at times when I feel that I can really help.

    Btw:
A post from 'apvbguy' asked about firearms laws here.
Basically, they 'suck' big time (these days.)
They were 'ok' when I moved here.
I have had Federal CCWs, and own a dozen firearms legally. - Both for 'sporting' purposes, (target shooting/IPSC,) and self defense.
But it is grim basically, compared to the USA.
We get by though. - Don't ask for details.

Some here might recognise me/my name?

I was born in England, and have loved firearms since my teens.
Former Royal Marine Commando, nine years service, 1978 to 1987, which included four tours of duty in Northen Ireland plus the Falklands War.
    Emigrated to Brazil in 1988.
Here I have done many things, including gold prospecting in the Amazon, and working security in Rio de Janeiro.

I worked PSD in Iraq (Baghdad) in 2004 - 2005, getting shot for my trouble in an ambush. - No complaints, it goes with the job.

Presently I'm searching for a trucking job.

    Glad to be here.
Glad to see you here. I enjoy your posts over at WT...Welcome aboard
