    Hi Folks...

    Stumbled across this forum while looking for some info on a S&W M&P 15 Sporter (I think that's what it's called...I've never been too good at model designations) that I'll most likely pick up today or over the weekend. I was struck by the courtesy displayed by members and the amount of info garnered from one thread, so I decided this would be a good place for me to hang out and talk guns when the urge hits. I currently own several rifles from .44 mag down to .17hmr, including a Weatherby 30.06 and a couple of .22's. I've also got several handguns, auto, DA and SA from .45 Colt down to .22, but I think my favorite is my S&W 1911 clone in .45ACP...although I must say, my little 9mm Makarov is an incredibly fun little gun...accurate dependable and seemingly indestructible. I just wish it packed a little more punch. Anyway, I don't as yet have a semi-auto "long gun", hence my recent compulsion to pick up something in the AR platform to round out my collection....I can't afford an M1A or the ammo to shoot it regularly, so the S&W Sporter seems right up my alley. Glad to be a part of the forum, I'll cut this long winded intro off now, and let you all know if I actually decide to take the plunge over the next few days. Happy to meet you all!
