I just logged in and started looking around, and realized I have never introduced myself even though I've been a member since Sept 2010.
So this is me: I'm a minister's wife, mother of two grown daughters, Sunday school teacher, and I pack heat.
I grew up with hunters and farmers, married a man who knew his way around guns, followed him into the ministry, lived 5 years as a missionary in Romania, came back to a very different United States just in time for it to change drastically with 9-11.
My carry weapon of choice is a Sig-p239, or a Taurus .38 as a backup. I also wield a pretty mean crossbow during deer season.
Now for my rant: I went to the local gas station, which happens to be attached to a bar. Because of other errands I was running and having to go in and out of gov't offices, I was not carrying on this day. (Hate the restrictions on my 2A right) So I go in to pay the cashier and notice the CPZ sign on the front door and ask her what she has against CCL folks and will that sign remain when the new law goes in to effect in OH. She says "Oh, yes because of the bar". I tell her CCL holders won't be drinking while carrying so there is no danger, but she says it will stay. Then I realize...what hypocrites!! Deny me my right to protect myself at the gas station, but in the back she is serving a bunch of yahoo's who will probably be breaking the law driving home blitzed later than nite. More people are killed by drunk drivers practicing their right to imbibe than will ever be injured by CCL holders practicing their right to strap a gun to their side. With every right comes responsibility, and with every right comes morons who will do stupid things. You can't legislate intelligence. Needless to say, I told the owner I would not patronize the station as long as that sign was there. I miss the land of the free and home of the brave.
