    New: First Handgun!

    Hey guys,

    I have been interested in firearms in general for years now, have always done much research on several rifles/handguns that I wanted, I just never had the extra funds to quench my thirst for the hobby. I'm a car nut first and foremost so it kinda got the backburner

    But anyways, i just turned 21 back in April and I purchased my first handgun! Going to go for a CCW soon when I have time for a class. I bought a FN FNP-9 from ray tanner on gunbroker, I'm sure many of you have seen the killer deal..

    Anyways, I tried buying at a local dealer, but the lack of firearms I was interested in, and their unbelievably HIGH prices pushed me away, as much as I wanted to support a local shop. So I found an FFL dealer that was willing to do a transfer (every gun shop wouldn't, had to go to a gunsmith/specialist!) and bought the FN.. (pic is not mine, haven't gotten it in yet)

    Congratulations, and welcome to the forum!!!

    Try to budget for some serious training in addition to the CCW class. Not sure who offers training in your area, but IIRC the NRA HQ range in Fairfax offers some classes that go beyond the bare minimum needed for the permit.
    Battle Plan (n) - a list of things that aren't going to happen if you are attacked.
    Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.
