North of Seattle, WA. Just say know to TEOTWAWKI.
I found DefensiveCarry while trolling Google for Frontsight training info.
My wife and I are glad to be a part of this great community.
We'd be glad to connect with other DC members north of Seattle, WA.
Own Glock 19s, 26 and Remmington 870.
Next purchase needs to be primarily for hunting and double as civil unrest defense.
Leaning toward detachable magazine fed 30-06, but I'd love to know what people recommend for people on a very limited budget. We can't afford to spend $2K on an AR15 yet so I'm hoping I can get something decent for less than $700. I just want to be able to take down a deer if I need to and I don't want to bring a pistol to a rifle fight.
I recently learned the term TEOTWAWKI so I'm gradually becoming a prepper.

Welcome from Delaware! One Second After was a very good book. However, seeing I have a Golden Retriever, it bothered me when the "Fools" met their demises!

Welcome from Virginia.
As for a reasonably priced rifle for both hunting and SHTF scenario, you might want to look at the Saiga .308. While it will never be a tack driver, it will give you decent accuracy and the AK platform has proven to be reliable. The 308 caliber will take down most any game you want to tackle, and definitely good defensive caliber.

Welcome, I'm a bit of a survivalist/ prepper however I'm practical about it, my bag is meant for me to go hunting for a week and I'm currently getting a bag together for my wife so she can do the same, she's working on stocking up on food and accessory's, my son is only 4 months so I'll defend my castle, I have enough guns and ammo to do so,
And so when man and horse go down beneath a saber keen, or in a roaring charge of fierce melee you stop a bullet clean, and the hostiles come to get your scalp, just empty your canteen, put your pistol to your head and go to Fiddlers green. U.S Army Cavalry

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
