Howdy, I'm a member over at MarlinOwners and thought I would sign up here - great site!
I'm very interested in defensive carry so this should be fun and enlightening. I'm mostly a lever guy but I have handguns, shotguns and could even go AR. Hope to learn some from the members here. Some of my collection that makes up my defense.

"Posing" your rifles on that fencepost illustrates that the balance point of those Marlins is just slightly forward of the trigger - darned close to ideal, in my book. I picked up a barely-used 336W for a song at a gun show a couple of years ago, and it's a hoot to shoot. Just about ready to start reloading .30-30 with lead bullets to get some low-cost trigger time with that gun.
