"Posing" your rifles on that fencepost illustrates that the balance point of those Marlins is just slightly forward of the trigger - darned close to ideal, in my book. I picked up a barely-used 336W for a song at a gun show a couple of years ago, and it's a hoot to shoot. Just about ready to start reloading .30-30 with lead bullets to get some low-cost trigger time with that gun.
