"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Wow, thanks everyone! What a great forum! I'm feeling pretty lucky that things at work have been slow lately, because I've had a LOT of time to read here on the forum, and I am totally impressed with the friendly, positive attitudes and the wealth of useful information that all of the members have! I thought I knew a fair share about revolvers, enough to make an educated decision anyway, but without this forum, I likely would've made a poor choice. I'm currently leaning towards an SP101, and will be hitting the ranges this weekend in search of one I can rent and fire. It seems to be a very well-loved wheel gun among forum members, so I have no reason to think I won't love it as well. I wouldn't be surprised to find one in my safe in the near future.
DanielC - welcome! You'll find lots of great advice here: I'm continually amazed at the expertise and the willingness to share.
I see that you're shopping: if you're anywhere near Lakewood you might give my pals at Ponderosa Firearms a call and see what they can do for you. They're local folks and I've known their woodcarver/leatherworker for a dozen years and have great respect for her (both for those abilities and for general character and approach to firearms).
[Disclosure: I did do a website for them and added their link to my sig line, but I would not stand to profit from any purchase you might make.]
