Newbie from Oklahoma.
New Handgun owner here. Grew up bird hunting, but never have shot or owned a handgun. Purchased a XDM 45 Compact yesterday getting pretty pumped on getting to use it. Took it apart last night and gave it a good wipe down to familiarize myself with it. I always respect my guns, but I will say I was more nervous choosing and holding a hand gun than I ever have been when shotgun shopping. Hoping that a few days at the range will alleviate some of the anxiety associated with it. Plan on taking some shooting classes and conceal carry class in the near future.

Welcome from TN and remember, knowledge is power. A gun isn't a tool as much as it is an instrument. No virtuoso violinist ever just practices occassionally. Instead he/she works at a steady pace to improve each time. So thus should each handgun owner strive to improve steadily through repeated practice.

We should not forget that the spark which ignited the American Revolution was caused by the British attempt to confiscate the firearms of the colonists. -
