Fairly new guy from Virginia
I've been around here for a few weeks, and am really enjoying the general kindness and helpfulness of the regulars.
I'm 58, and grew up quail hunting and raising American Short Hair Pointers. My dad made me carry an unloaded shotgun with him for an entire season before he'd let me have shells.
I've owned handguns for years, from a Browning Buck Mark .22 to a beloved 6" Smith 686+, but have only shot casually, plinking at tin cans on the farm a couple of times a year. Just got a CC permit and plan to start going to the range once or twice a month.
Thanks for the kindness and help so far. Hope I can chip in as I become more knowledgeable.
(Um, I didn't know they'd paste that big banner in my profile pane over a ten buck contribution. Was just throwing a little something into the bandwidth pot.)
If you have integrity, nothing else matters.
If you don't have integrity, nothing else matters.

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Welcome from Denver! Glad to have you aboard!
I'd rather have my gun and not need it than need my gun and not have it.
