From NYC now in Las Vegas

I started getting into shooting a few years ago when I started with trap and skeet. That prompted me to go and purchase a shotgun. That little endeavor put me on a road which brought me to where I am today. I sought to register the shotgun with my NYPD and was told I needed a license, so I got one. Having the SG in my home for self defense was a happy byproduct of owning it for the purpose of shooting trap. I had so much fun shooting trap that I wanted to try other shooting fun. With my rifle permit I got myself a 10/22 and went to the ranges with that. Then I wanted a pistol cause those guys looked like they were having loads of fun too. I went through NYPD red tape for a few months, jumping through hoops, paying close to 500$ for my permit but got it no problem. It was a restricted permit... not for carry, residence premises only.

I then pondered (and this is where my life changes) why am I as a NYC resident only allowed to protect myself and my family in my home. What happens outside the premises? Why do I have fewer rights because of where I live? Am I less of a human being? Decidedly not!

I left my job and moved to Nevada. I was not going to let other people's asinine fears and prejudices determine the safety of myself or my loved ones. I now carry regularly. Mostly my G27 or if need be the KelTec p3at

If you have never broken your gun or bled on your gun in training, you're doing it wrong!

    Welcome...

    from Central Florida!

Close to $500 to have a pistol in your home?
That, in and of itself, is a crime.
I'm sure it DOES feel good to have moved.

    Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
