Introducing... me!
Hello allI am very new to taking the concept of self-defense seriously. I have never paid much attention to my surroundings, never been able to really defend myself if something bad were to happen to me; and I never thought much about it either. After studying a philosophy for living on earth, and much introspection, I've decided to do whatever is necessary to protect my values. My highest values are my own life and the lives of my family. To me, carrying a handgun is part of that protection. I guess here in Washington state we don't need any classes for a concealed pistol license, since I received mine recently after just filling out a form and getting fingerprinted. So my next steps are to take classes and find the proper handgun, and then to train with it. Thank you for this very informative forum!

Welcom here. You can never get enough training. Just make sure it is proper training. Do your research before you lock onto an instructor.

Welcome from W Central Florida. You made a wise decision to take the class. Rent or try several guns before you buy. Good luck.

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
