Greetings from SE Michigan
I have been lurking around the forum for a few weeks now soaking up knowledge and now feel a bit guilty about not introducing myself sooner.
My family has deep roots in the South but came north on Henry Ford’s promise of $5/day. Although an urban Yankee by birth, growing up I followed the traditions of the rural South. As little more than a child I started “hunting” pheasant with my BB gun in the vacant lots near my house. As soon as I got old enough I was taught to shoot a .22 rife. Later I purchased a Remington 870 to harvest small game.
I live in a good neighborhood but it has begun to change. On my pre-dawn morning walks the dog and I now see bags of fast food garbage, beer cans and even liquor bottles thrown on the street. Yesterday I found myself looking at a bright yellow “Get Out of Jail Free” card with a bail bondsman’s phone number near a bus stop. News from the City is filled with carjacking, violence and murder. Despite my best efforts to stem the flow of time, I seem to get smaller and weaker with each passing year. I intend on being prepared should I be tested.

Welcome from Portland Tennessee
We should not forget that the spark which ignited the American Revolution was caused by the British attempt to confiscate the firearms of the colonists. -

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

I'd rather have my gun and not need it than need my gun and not have it.

Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.
