    Greetings from Oregon

Yet another new member here. I've been researching home defense and concealed carry in my free time, and google kept bringing me to threads on this site!

If all goes well, I will receive my undergraduate degree this May, and I plan to buy my first self-defense firearm and pursue training once I move out of the campus dorms. While i have a little experience shooting guns over the years, I definitely consider myself a novice. Anybody have thoughts on where a person consciously incompetent about guns and shooting like me should start?

Welcome from South Carolina...Read and research this site! In the meantime, seek out a reputable/competent trainer in your area and start saving your money for a good two or three day defensive weapon course. JMO
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
