New to forum and new gun owner

Purchased Taurus 357 Snubby...(617). Right out of the box I cleaned it and took to the range a couple of days later. Started off with 38 special ammo...fired off a couple and then the cylinder and hammer wouldn't budge. Ejected the ammo, reloaded...same thing...every time I shot 38 special ammo this gun got weird. Went to 357 and it performed flawlessly-single or double action. AMMO used--both Federal. 38 Special 130 grain FMJ...357 158 grain soft point.

I also have (ordered on the way) Rock Island Armory 12 ga M5 Nickel Matte Shotgun w 20" barrel.

Anybody have any helpful information/experience with this? I asked the range guys and they had no clue.

    Thanks!

    Marc G.

Welcome to the forum. Is this a used gun? And how much gap between cylinder and barrel?
