    Hello from MO.

Just thought I would say hi.
Last weekend was the 1st time I have fired a handgun since I got out of the army in 91.
I took my ccw class last week and have my background check next week.
I've been doing more security work on the side and decided it was time to get off the pot and get my ccw.

Welcome from Missouri....North from you. You have come to the right place to learn more. This is a great place for exchange of information, tactics weapons issues, and even humor.

Taking the class and getting the permit is just the beginning....If you haven't read some of Massad Ayoob's books (especially In Gravest Extreme and Truth About Self Protection here: Armor of New Hampshire: Author: Massad Ayoob - Books) I highly recommend them.

Also Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals by Michael Martin from Key House Press. I believe it can be gotten on Amazon or Key House is a sponsor of this forum. This one is a great read.

    Welcome from Wisconsin.

I don't know what the procedure is in MO for getting an Armed Security or Private Detective License but here in WI it's a lot more difficult that the Concealed Carry License. Security Agencies shell out a lot of money for liability insurance for their armed officers. I did that for a number of years when I retired from the Army. I started off a an Industrial Security Officer then had to certify on a firearm & get the armed endorsement when the plant got a Government contract for sensitive equipment. Since then the plant closed & the agency is too slow to seek further employment so I just retired & let my (expensive) Armed Security License lapse. When WI got the CCW law passed last year I got my license. As a Vet all I had to do was send in my DD 214, application & $50.

    Good luck to you!

    Hi!
