I'm new to the whole CCW thing. I just recently completed my class and plan on purchasing my first CC. I currently have a S&W Model 60 .38 cal snub nose, which I really like. However, I'm interested in getting a semi-auto for my CC. I have been researching and looking and have come down to the Taurus 24/7 G2 compact or the Bersa Thunder 9 ultra compact, which I really like the looks and feel of. Any suggestions???

Welcome. Shoot those guns and different ones, too, and buy the one that feels right.
I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Choices of carry guns are unlimited. It depends a lot on your personal likes & dislikes, how concealable it is (unless you're planning on open carry), what you can afford - all kinds of considerations. Ask 10 gun carriers & you'll get 10 different answers.
I had a handgun in mind & when I decided to buy it I found a sale on a different one that I couldn't resist at a price I could afford with a few bucks left over. Since I was strapped for cash it was a major consideration. Although it wasn't exactly what I had in mind I made do & have carried it successfully ever since I bought it.

Between the two you mentioned, I'd go with the Bersa.
It's a great value.
