I've been shooting for sometime but just recently applied for a carry permit. I have two guns that would be good carry pieces, a Beretta Bobcat 21 in 22LR (I don't discount a 22LR for defensive carry) and a S&W 442.
I'm looking for a carry 9mm. I have a full size Steyr MA1 in 9mm, fun to shoot but it is a bit much to conceal.
I would like to get a CZ 2075 RAMI BD or a M&P Shield, but both of those guns are very hard to find.
Looks like there are plenty of fans of those guns on this forum.

Welcome from Wisconsin!
Most anything can be concealed if you work at it & are creative. Of course there are some handguns that are easier to conceal than others - a lot as a matter of fact. You should get lots of advice here on which is the best but in the end the decision is yours. If you can afford it I heard the M&P .40 cal or 9MM compact is a great gun. I, too was hoping for a Shield but the wait was long, I got impatient & I had some unexpected expenses so I had to settle for something I could afford - A S&W Sigma .40 cal. I believe that's the replacement for the Sigma which is now discontinued. It was at a good price & it was a clone of the Glock 23 that I foolishly gave to my son before WI had a Concealed Carry law. I'm not cheap enough to ask for it back but I came close, lol.

Yeah waiting is hard. I like the CZ 75D PCR compact too. I like an all metal gun but I'm old. I wish S&W still made the Chiefs Special 9mm.

It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6!!

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Welcome fellow Minnesotan, I would say if you carry a full size you could open carry,,,,, but I don't open carry past maple grove. So that might not be the best thing to open carry in Minneapolis and surrounding communities, alltho I did OC at harbor freight one time... Once I pass rogers its all secret from then on and doors locked.

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
