Thanks for you greeting Glenn. Yes, that is a S&W Sigma as my avatar.
I have recently returned to shooting for enjoyment and personal defense. I grew up with firearms and really missed shooting so I did a little research, fired a buddy's pistol, and bought a .40 Sigma.
I've only put 200 rounds of WWB through it but so far I am very pleased. Very rusty skill wise, but very pleased with the Sigma. I had purchased some PMC Bronze that would not feed at all, but the WWB feeds great. What would you recommend for self defense rounds in the Sigma? Thanks again for the greeting.

    Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

I use Federal American Eagle 165 gr FMJ for target shooting & Federal Premium 180gr HST hollow points for self defense. I just got the box of HST yesterday & haven't had a chance to shoot any yet. It was the second to the last box on the shelf with no more expected. I have a thread in the "Ammo & Ballistics" forum - http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum/...ody-shoot-ammo that addresses this ammo but from what posters wrote back in response it's very hard to get. There are other recommendations for self defense ammo there as well. Try a few different types & see which one does the best job for you. I wouldn't use the expensive hollow points for target practice too often. Just enough to make sure your gun performs good with it & you can hit what you're aiming at. As soon as I get some loose cash (I figure it'll happen in about the year 2019, lol) I'm going to buy some of the stuff that was recommended & try them out. Gold Dots being one of them. As long as I can keep a couple of magazines left over for carrying. After all everyone only needs one shot to neutralize the target, right?, lol. If that's the case I wonder why I jack a round in the chamber & add one to the mag. Wouldn't 15 rounds be overkill? lol
