Greetings from East TN, Y'ALL!
Norm here, Marine Veteran, Navy Retired, DAV. I am awaiting my CCP in the mail. Have a trading post, am a distributor for Tekut knives and Nextorch Tactical Lighting, have a pistol range out back and a bad attitude... that is why I applied for my permit. I know from years ago, when I was much younger, and much more likely to explode on someone, I carried a CW in WA for about 4 years. When I was carrying, you could not set me off. I figured I would have the last word, and that was a lot of responsibility, which I did not take lightly. I also happened to be a Watch Commander at the time, which also kept my explosive nature in check. I have always been the type to get really upset over an abuse of power by an authority figure, and I was NOT gonna be "that guy". My carry options are:
Ruger SP101, 2.25" in 357
Taurus Judge Magnum, 3 inch barrel, takes 3 inch shells
FEG PA-63, 3.5 inch, 9X18 Mak (most likely carry gun)
Bulgarian Mak, obviously chambered for the Mak
Taurus PT140 Millenium (sp?), in 40 S&W
Taurus PT945 in 45 acp.
I always felt that anything smaller than a 357 was too small to carry for defense... well, time changes things. Three shoulder surgeries, and a shot back, and a few of my positions have changed. The Mak round was used for many years by both police and military, so at the ranges where I might have to use it, I think it will work. It is wicked accurate, even with me shooting it. It is also the lighted, smallest, and easiest to conceal of the bunch. It get kinda hot here in the summer. In the winter, shoot, I could conceal the Judge, but not in the summer. My preferred carry position is cross draw, or a shoulder rig, with the muzzle canted upward. For me it is an easier reach (shoulder surgeries).
Anybody in the area, give me a shout. I give our local police, fire and emts a heck of a deal on any lights, or knives they need, they put their lives on the line for us daily, so I figure it is the least I can do.

Welcome from South Carolina... Originally born an raised in Old Hickory/Mt Juliet area.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
