Welcome aboard, Daytrader. I don't think the BG's here or there (other countries) give a hoot about where their ammo's coming from. The least expensive ammo seems to me to be coming from the old Eastern Bloc countries. As for DoD buying up the Made-in-the-USA ammo, yes, there's a lot of truth in that. I've heard stories when they were really short in 2008-2009, they turned to Israeli contractors.Originally Posted by daytrader50

Since ammo is not price-controlled in favor of the user it could go as high as the manufacturers want it to go. Add an additional tax to it (could happen) & the sky's the limit. My greatest fear as that guns will be very easily accessible but ammo will be impossible to buy.

I bought some ammo recently, and in the process started comparing it to what I paid for the same calibers , types, etc. last year... and it was definitely less than last year. I've been catching some of the 'sales' when they come along... and that's what these were, but they were "sales" deals a year ago as well.
