Hi, i'm a new member who is interested in getting some ideas on concealed carry for a full size Ruger 1911 pistol. any one have any ideas on what types of holsters might work best for concealability? im a heavier man; big belly so not much room in the waistline to carry. thinking about a shoulder holster. I'm open to any "logical" and sincere suggestions. BTW...........yes i know that losing weight is one option;however easier said then done!

I'm still going through holstering ideas & experimenting, myself. After all this time carrying a gun on my right hip at 3:30 to 4:30, that's probably where it'll stay. I'm considering an inside the waistband & possibly a shoulder holster depending on what I'm wearing. Good holsters are expensive so my experimentation will be over a long period of time.

Welcome aboard. I've never cared for shoulder holsters, but whatever works for you.
