    Retiring LEO

Getting ready to take retirement, grab the truck camper, and disappear in the wilds for a while. I was drawn here by a four year old thread that popped on when I was doing a bit of research; deciding what I wanted to carry as a defensive sidearm in my retirement years.

I look forward to getting to know other members.

Welcome from Wisconsin, rfalcon! Congrats on your impending retirement. I pulled the plug on the Army - same concept - & now I wish I would have gone 20 instead of 27. The pension check is better but my body is almost too beat up to enjoy a fully active life. All those years diving for the Navy & jumping out of planes for the Army will do that to you. Great fun at the time but I'm paying for it. Don't let that happen to you & take care of yourself. It's a madhouse out there for someone in your line of work. My son is about to take your place in the LEO world when he completes the Milwaukee Police Academy in 4.5 months.

Take a swing through Wisconsin & do some hunting & fishing.
