I think for whatever reason I took that post as an open place that was not, for lack of a better word, organized. So this is the location of the carroll country gun club? and the range there is what you were talking about from sunrise to sunset?
Yes. It looks like a range. It has target stands and covering for the shooters.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

I recently went to some wildlife managment area that allows hunting and traping. ended up getting a warning because you can't target shoot there (what sense does that make?). anyway as I am walking back to my vehicle gun case and bag of spent brass in hand, I see a card from the local P.D.......... lesson learned I guess
    .

Most if not all WMA lands are privately owned and leased to the public hunting program. Under the lease agreements with the owners they don't allow target shooting. Here in Texas it is the same way and will get you a pricy ticket

Finally someone that could explain it to me.... my P.D told me they don't know it is the law made by fish and game. FIsh and game told me that it is just because that is what their fine print rules say.

Also thanks everyone who I have not responded to that have said welcome.

Lots of WMA here in Texas is leased by the lumber co.’s to harvest lumber and then to make some of their money back they in turn lease it to the public hunting program. Type 2 in Texas -open to the public, type 1 is by drawing only-controlled hunting of the more pristine areas.

rule booklets can be had when you buy a permit and if you don't have a permit you can be charged with trespassing
