I moved from colorado to california three years ago. I have one Glock that's been in storage for the entire time. I just learned that it has to be registrered within 60 days of moving here. can i still register it without penalty and bring it here or do i need to just quietly cut it in half? Can anyone help out. Thanks Also whats the best way to get an HSC.

Welcome. Don't know the answer to your question.
I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

I think California has an amnesty clause for first time gun registration reserved strictly for those who have moved to the state with handguns unaware of the law. I'm not real sure of this so double check first.

I am sure that you meant to post that the gun has been stored in Colorado for the last 3 years and you are now thinking about bringing it to Cali.
Not sure but do not think Anaheim is a gun friendly section of Cali. You working for the Mouse?

I wasn't aware there are gun-friendly sections anywhere in California?
Welcome OP, you may want to contact a lawyer licensed to practice in the state of California to be sure?

Handgunlaw.us might get you started.
I would recommend John Machtinger's book: How to Own a Gun & Stay Out of Jail (California).
From the CA Attorney General's web site: Firearms Info for New Residents.
Using either Machtinger's book or Handgunlaw.us as an initial guide for the CA PC codes themselves, head to CA Penal Code search: click.

I don't think that anything will happen to you if you just brought it back after a recent visit back to Colorado.

I don't believe this would be the same kind of post that the rules talk about. He's asking advice for his situation since he just found out his gun was supposed to have been registered. It's a bit different.

The easiest way to get the HSC is go buy a gun
Any gun store will "sell" you one, after you pass the test. One time I paid for one it was $25. There are gun friendly counties in CA FYI, as gun friendly as they can be within state laws.
