Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

I also use a Smartcarry when doing lots of physical labor (which I try to avoid)

I envy you your jogging. I recently was banned from that activity by my doc due to a recurrent back problem but I walk at least 4 miles a day. I'm 71 & retired from the Army at age 60. Some habits die hard, especially the morning PT, lol. Doc thought that the running was playing havoc to my lower back but walking is okay. I do 4 miles in 45 minutes. No problems keeping my gun in place with a standard belt OWB holster for me. I'm fortunate that I live less than 5 minutes away from a state forest.
Some of the recommendations you've gotten for holsters sound good.
