New member from Pennsylvania.. leaving Taurus behind picking up Springfield.
Hi everyone!
Name is Jared and I'm from PA. I turn wrenches for a living primarily rebuilding and over-hauling automatic and standard transmissions.
I have a lot to pick up on as far as terms and abbreviations go. I picked up my first pistol almost 2 years ago and I decided to go w/ a Taurus PT845 at the time. I must say for the price I was happy and pleased with my purchase. I probably put roughly 300-400 rounds through it before I got rid of it. The only bad thing I had to replace firing pin.. wouldn't of been as bad if I wasn't on the phone for over an hour. But I had read about that before I purchased the gun. Well after lugging around the PT845 and after much thought I decided to go w/ a Springfield XDm .45 compact.
Went where I purchased my PT845 and traded it in and put my deposit down on the XDm. Hopefully picking it up Friday or Saturday!
I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THIS PISTOL TO GET HERE! I held a XDm .40 compact while in the store and it is just a beautiful pistol.
I will give a update when I receive my pistol. I have my carrying permit and wanted something that was comfortable to CC.
Well I look forward to reading through the wealth of information web forums have!
Thank you for your site & forums!
