Hello to all. I am new to the CCW world and brand-new to this forum, as I just recently received my permit from the State of Virginia. I carry a Ruger LC9 and am still becoming familiar with it at the range and carrying it concealed.
I have already learned a lot just browsing through various forums on this site, and am looking forward to continuing my education in the world of concealed carry. I look forward to any general advice or stories, especially anything relating to Virginia-state laws on the topic of concealment.
Background: I’m active-duty (Army) and just recently returned from a three-year assignment in Germany, which is one of the safest places I have ever lived. It was only shortly after I returned back to the States that I realized that things have to change on my behalf if I want to protect myself, my family and my property. I’m also a Harley rider, so I’ll gladly take any advice on how to ride concealed!

Welcome from Southwestern Virginia. My jacket covers my OWB carry when I ride with no problem so I carry just like I normally do.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Thanks for your continuing service in the Army. Planning on staying in until retirement? I highly recommend it, lol. If it weren't for that monthly retirement check I'd be cooked because I lost my job several years ago & don't plan on looking any further for the present. There's nothing there anyhow.

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Welcome from the Richmond area.
As for the riding your bike and remaining concealed, it's the same procedures. Just a reminder, your in VA, open carry is 100% legal, so if it becomes viewable while riding, no foul/no penalty.

It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6!!
