New Member From Irving, Texas
Hello & good afternoon! My name is Clint & I am a new member from Irving, Texas. I am not yet a CHL holder, but have a date for next month to complete my state required CHL training course. I hope to have my license by the end of February 2013. Though I grew up with guns, I am a fairly new gun owner. When I left home years ago, I left my guns there as I was moving to California & they aren't as friendly as Texas when it comes to guns. Since returning to Texas almost two years ago, I decided that I want to get my hands on a couple of my old rifles & purchase a couple of handguns. I was able to get my old Winchester 190 22LR from my mom. It was my first gun. My grandpa gave it to me when I was 10 years old. It's still in great shape. Brought back a lot of great childhood memories of hunting with my grandpa. I also got an old 410 from my mom that belonged to my step-dad. I'm blanking on the name/model right now, but it's about 55 years old if I'm not mistaken. The new additions are recent purchases. I bought a new Sig SP2022 9mm & a Ruger LC9. Both are great guns & fun to shoot. The Sig will be my bed side gun & the Ruger will be my CCW when I get my CHL.
I'm glad to be a new member of this forum & look forward to all that I'm sure I'll learn from everyone here. Have a good evening!
~Clint

I like the PPQ a lot, but it was just a bit big for me for CCW purposes.

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

When I can, .45 full frame is an easy carry. Sometimes, a 9MM (with personal loads :-) loads goes ok. When having to do so, I'm happy with a .22 Mag (personal loads) since it will be up close and personal.
As always on this Forum, 'it depends', and no size fits any situation. 'Go with what you know' and, hopefully, been trained to know.
