Any of you fellow Kansans live in the Johnson County area? I have a few questions about transporting (& keeping) a firearm in my vehicle...
From what I understand, generally it can't be within reach of anybody riding in the car, must be in a "closed container", and can't be loaded. Is that right?
Does a holster count as a closed container?
Can the magazine be full?
Is it OK to travel with both the gun and full magazine (not IN the gun) in the trunk or do they have to be separate? (Like gun in bag in trunk & full magazine in cabin of vehicle)
and finally what if you drive a SUV that doesn't have a "trunk"?
I've been trying to locate this info online specific to each city that I travel to, but want to be sure. Also emailed the AG but his reply was to verify with each city in my county...
