It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6!!

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
Thanks to everyone for the greetings!
I cannot tell if you are perhaps mocking me, or just being humorous. I am definitely seeing some of that passion in certain areas of interest (like the 1911 I keep reading about). I found enough useful posts in browsing that I felt this forum would be a good resource for information. Many of the pictures in the "What do you carry", "How do you carry" and "What holster do you use" posts required membership to view, so I decided to sign up. The more I read, the more I am convinced about carry, but I still need to figure out how to make it practical for me and without making my roommate uncomfortable.
To share a little more.. So far I am enjoying shooting at the range enough that I bought an annual membership to the range, a Sig P229 Elite Stainless (chambered in 9mm), a P239 (also chambered in 9mm) and a good safe. I have been through 600 rounds of ammo already in the past two months, which seems like a ton to me (9mm at ~$0.24 per shot) but maybe not a lot to true enthusiasts. My appointment for CHL is in about a week and a holster for the P239 is on order.

Never challenge an old man, because if you lose, you’ve lost to an old man, and if you win, so what?
