    Greetings from South Texas....

    ...after lurking for a couple weeks, thought it was time to chime in. Decided about a month ago it was past time for me to obtain my CHL. I have had guns for a long time, but never really took full use of them till recently. My dad gave me a 70 series Colt 1911 about 30 years ago, have maybe 100 rnds thru it, just got a Glock 19 4th Gen that have been practicing with, and my wife a Taurus .38
    Better late than never I guess, but with the way the world is now, things are just too outta control to assume nothing bad is going to happen to me or my family.....and I believe life is going get more difficult before it gets better.....just my humble opinion. Anyway, I have been lurking on this and a couple other forums that deal with CC an SD. I have my CHL class scheduled in a couple weeks, have already been getting my "head right" as far as being a responsible armed member of my community. I think I understand that walking around in public with a legal weapon may empower me to a degree, but with that empowerment comes great responsibilty to be knowledable and profiecient. I look forward to soaking up the info I get here as well as other forums, and in time, maybe actually contribute some positive influance to others, thanks for the vine, Kel
