Hello from a new Member in CT-
Just as the title says, hello from a new guy in Connecticut :)
After years of delay, I recently finished the roughly 5- month process to obtain my ccw.
Yesterday I purchased my first concealable firearm, an sr9c.
I very much look forward to learning as much as possible here- and I most certainly have a lot to learn!
Thanks for having me-
Respectfully,
-Sam

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Welcome Sam. I just joined today as well. Five month process for a CCW? What could take so long? That's incredible. I'm glad you had the persistence to wait it out friend, you'll be safer for doing it. Welcome to our world. Be safe.

Thank you, sirs.
@KBSR- It took about 5 months start to finish: Finding an instructor who was offering classes that fit into a slightly frantic schedule ( I have 2 little girls, the youngest is three months
) waiting for and completing that class, enduring a paperwork mishap, a month long wait to be fingerprinted at the local level, a healthy wait (approx 2.5 mos) from the gentlemen conducting thorough background checks at the federal level, and of course I saved up for the prerequisite lockboxes/safety features needed, especially because of the little ones running around. Most recently there was a very rude lady named Sandy who trashed my part of the country, and I couldn't, in good conscience, spend money on a pistol while friends and neighbors were suffering. My "Daddy's Ruger Fund" jar was emptied to help get people back on their feet following the aftermath of the storm.
All in all, about 5 months!
Respectfully,
Sam

Welcome from Wisconsin, Sam. I've found that anti-gun people will come up with all kinds of reasons for others not to buy a gun. Must have been a government bureaucrat who believes the government has the responsibility to put there nose in everyone's business.
