Been a constant reader of DC and finally just decided to join. Derrick and Lisa from Michigan here.. I(d) originally from northwest Ohio. I have had my ccw for a few years now been shooting for 20+. Just getting my lady into ccw, cpl.
I carry a S&W m&p 9c. I absolutely love it. I love Smiths in general so post to come may be biased!
Looking for a suitable carry for her.. Mostly all purse carry. Must be 9mm, not glock, and semi auto. Options so far:
1) S&W m&p 9c
2) Springfield xdm 9 3.8
3) walther pps 9
Thanks all!!

Welcome from Virginia.
Might also want to consider the Kahr CW9 or the S&W Shield 9mm.

Welcome from Wisconsin, Derrick & Lisa! Since you know & like the M&P9C & since that was the first one on your list that's what I would suggest. I'll add another - the M&P Shield in 9MM. I know nothing about it but what I've read & so far it's all been positive. The biggest problem I've heard about is availability. They're hard to find & you'll probably get one on backorder eventually. You might get lucky as some onsite have been & get one soon so it doesn't hurt to ask. At this time I've been eyeing the M&P 40C. I've been wanting to get a Glock 23 but I can't seem to find a good price on a new one. I can get a fairly good Military discount on the M&P. My son uses the full size .40 at the Police Academy & he loves it. That's the same that he'll be issued when he graduates. He's a Glock man with the G23 I gave him & his G21 .45 cal. I like the adjustable grip sizes on the M&Ps.

Thanks for all the welcomes! Its funny because those two mentioned were in top 5 as well. Kahr cm9 or cw9 and The Shield! Can't get my hands on some, been trying for a few months.. would love to shoot it, heard only positives. Plus it's a Smith.. haha! Trigger on the Kahrs was what sue didn't like.

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
