Hey everyone
New to the forum, long time firearms fan, live in Dallas TX. I got my concealed carry in 1996, a year after they began issuing them in Texas. Due to other priorities (income, kids, etc) I let it expire but now, later in life I'm thinking of taking it again. My wife is interested as well.
Recent purchases are a full sized Beretta PX4 INOX 9mm, it's a great shooting and accurate gun but not something I'd want to carry. So more recently I recently picked up a Ruger SR9c and really like it.
Other handguns include a Beretta 950 Jetfire .25 ACP, a S&W 622 VR .22 LR, a Taurus 689 .357 Magnum, a Rossi .38 Special, and a the two mentioned above. Would love to round out the collection with a .45 some day. Oh yeah I also have an old black powder .44 but that doesn't really count. Does the Smith & Wesson security alarm system on my property count?
I hope to learn more about defensive carry issues, especially holster ideas. Great forum here from what I've read so far!

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Hello, Tinsley, and welcome from Missouri to this great forum. Good people and LOTS of info here! Since you're new to shooting, do look to get some good instructional training. Also, check out the many YouTube video training done by Massad Ayoob. He is a world-class trainer and expert on use of lethal force and self defense. He has done several training seminars that are recorded on YouTube. Just Google him. If you have problems finding any, PM me as I have a URL list.
