Hello from the Garden State
Hey all. New member from New Jersey, the Jersey Shore to be exact!
I'm new to this forum but not new to firearms, I was military trained as a youth by the IDF (Gadna) and I've been a firearms owner for over 20 years. I do NOT have a CC permit in my home-state but I am a FL non-resident CCW permit holder, as I do travel often for business purposes. Apart from my interest in firearms, I am also into: music; I am a blues-guitar player (lefty BTW) and have been playing for over 30 years, Ham - or Amateur Radio (Technician class, KD2DRV, copy...), motorcycle rider, beer brewing (very very small batches with my Mr. Beer kits), avid collector of junk (well that's what my wife calls them, I call them collectibles) and we also spend most of our time raising our 3 kids.
My primary CCW has been my Beretta 84 FS (.380) which I have owned for several years. It's never let me down, and in all the years I've owned it, (it was my 1st pistol, so over 20 years) I have never experienced a failure that was due to the pistol itself, (I've shot some cheap ammo in the past and I had a friend limp wrist it recently). So I have been very happy with it.
I am preparing to take ownership of another Beretta, a Nano (9mm) that will ultimately replace my 84 as my primary CCW once I break it in and am comfortable enough to carry it. Looking forward to it as I have read many positive reviews of the pistol. Though the debate seems to linger about what type of ammo to feed it. Needless to say, given that I have read that there IS a break-in period needed for this gun, I want to make sure I feed it the proper ammo during that period. Which is what initially brought me to this great forum.
Looking forward to sharing my interest, my wonderful sense of humor, my quest for and my knowledge as well and...please don't take me too seriously, and/or personally...
Weapons I currently own:
Beretta 84FS .380
Beretta Nano 9mm (should arrive in the next 30 days or so)
SIG P229R 9mm
SIG 1911 XO .45
PWS (Primary Weapons System) MK114 5.56

Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.
