Welcome from Wisconsin! Now if this device also allows you to talk/text with your friends you have a winner, lol.
I taught self defense martial arts to women in a different life & when I was through with them I'd match them up any time with my other students who were learning the traditional methods for SD & competition. Of course the ladies would get disqualified for life from the first tournament they entered, lol.

Hello, AdvocateWomensD, and welcome from Missouri to this great forum! Good people and LOTS of info here. I applaud your work to help women be safe.
You didn't mention handgun usage in potential self-defense scenarios. If you are considering this as part of your program, I suggest you check out the many free YouTube videos made by Massad Ayoob, a world-class instructor, who has recorded training sessions in Judicious Use of Force, Shoot to Live, Home Invasion, Preparation for Home Defense, and What to Do After a Shooting. Just Google his name and these topics and the YouTubes should show up.

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
Welcome...

GH-that tournament must of been entertaining... there's theory and then there is practice! Visually seeing the match up I bet created quite a stir, I'm guessing this was before youtube days... too bad! lots of views yes? GeoBob, thank you for your post and your youtube suggestions on using firearms-good information!
