Howdy from SW Ohio - first-time carry today

    Hi y'all.

Glad to be here. I've been reading the forums for a while and have learned a lot. I'm thankful for what y'all have shared.

I've had my CCW for a few months, but haven't carried. I work at a university that bans all firearms from its campus & property, so I can't even keep my guns in my car when it's parked. (Ohio law allows it, but the U doesn't.)

Well, it's semester break, and I had a lunch to go to in a part of town not known for its tranquility, so I carried for the first time. I thought I'd feel like I had a cinderblock on my hip and everyone was staring at me, but it didn't. (It would have been more comfy if I could lose 30 pounds, but that's another story.)

Anyway, all went well, just as it should, and gun didn't change anything, just like it shouldn't.

Thanks for reading and for all your helpful posts, and I'll be hanging around some more.

    Mcmast

The more you carry, the more comfortable you'll become, almost to the point that you feel naked without your sidearm. However, no matter how comfortable you feel don't become complacent. Oh, and welcome from Massachusetts.

Greetings and welcome from the Space Coast of Central Florida.

I never notice the extra weight on my hip until my SA says I should check. Then it doesn't take much to move my body a little to reassure myself that it's still there.
