Greetings from Oregon
Greetings all. My wife and I recently took a concealed cary class and received our license.
I've always had rifles and shotguns and a few pistols. My initial reason for the CCL class was for my wife and our newborn (no he didn't attend the class... not yet anyways) to have some protection if they were ever in a less than desirable situation. I do know that after the class my wife has been more engaged into my "gun hobby".
We are currently looking at a Ruger LCR .38 for her. Our CCL instructor had one and she fell in-love with right then (no not the instructor, the gun). I am still undecided on my carry weapon.
Other weapons in our stable include a S&W 1911, Hi Point JF 9mm (yuck, but it works every time), 300 win-mag (pre '62), and a bunch of 12ga's, 16ga's and 20ga's and you can't forget the .22's .
We both are DIY'ers and look forward to seeing other peoples projects and hopefully displaying some of our own.

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Hi there from a fellow oregonian. The LCR would be a great choice for your wife, I just got the 38 and love it (its making my GP100 a little jealous).
