    New guy from NC

    Hey folks, new guy here from central NC. I'm a huge outdoor enthusiast and spend a lot of time in remote areas alone (or with the girlfriend) while off-roading, camping, fly fishing, hunting and hiking. I also have a job which requires that I travel through some "unsafe" areas at late night hours a couple of times a week while not on the clock. About two years ago I got my CC permit but never bought a gun. I think now is a good time since I have a little disposable cash from Christmas. I'm still trying to decide on a gun, but I will start a thread in another section to keep this post from getting technical.

    Welcome from Wisconsin. It seems that buying your first handgun can be a real chore deciding which one. There are so many good ones out there. I personally favor Glock & M&P but those are only a few out of many others that I'd gladly carry.
