I know I have only been "here" for a couple months, but it appears there has been a very large number of folks who have just recently decided to CCW for whatever reason...this is a good thing...

Yep there are a lot of people joining up and looking to start CCing. So now more than ever, we need to be vigilant in providing accurate information and helping people new to CC (like myself) to get the proper training they need so accidents can be avoided. The last thing we need to do is feed the liberal fire.

After looking at a whole crapload of carry-related sites I'd say that this one has the best & most accurate info with a minimum of chest-thumping & gun (other than the one the poster uses) bashing.
It is indeed a good thing that so many people are entering the world of gun ownership & carrying. We can expect to be extra careful on how we talk to these new people to insure that they won't turn into the type of people anti-gun folks picture us to be. I've even stopped dragging my knuckles, stood upright & started shaving & bathing more often after I joined up here, lol.

This is a very good thing.
More people becoming responsible law abiding gun owners.
More responsible law abiding gun owners seeking to educate themselves.

The more that own guns reduces the chances of an AWB, remember that presently about 45% of all households have guns of some type and our representatives will do what ever it takes to get re elected, even lie as our president has done many times.

You've got it right Kel. Just stand back and Welcome them in.

There is a downside I suppose...all these new background checks are delaying me getting my CHL card from the state...

We need about 150 million new CCW owners to join up, write some letters to their reps and join the NRA.

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
