Hello, AmberFlea, and welcome from Missouri to a really great forum. Good people and info here!

Since you are new to the handgun aspect of the self defense arena, check out the many free YouTube videos made by Massad Ayoob, a world-class instructor in handgun use and self defense, who has recorded training sessions in Judicious Use of Force, Shoot to Live, Home Invasion, Preparation for Home Defense, and What to Do After a Shooting. May have some info that could help you in your CC questions and also use of handguns. Just Google his name and these topics and the YouTubes should show up. Very good instructional information from an expert, and free.

And, best wishes for a safe, prosperous New Year to you and yours.

Welcome from another Wisconsin Gal!! You'll find a wealth of information, warm conversation, and sometimes heated (yet constructive) debate here. Bersa makes some nice pistols for the money. Certainly many here will have advice and suggestions on carrying them. We all look forward to sharing and learning together with you!

I echo the sentiment of having a nice little semi AND a nice little revolver. A lady needs options!

Be sure to check out the 'official female carry' thread if you haven't already. Lots of great links to check out there: The Official Female Carry Reference Thread

Congrats on your permit, and welcome to DC!
