Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

    Welcome from Fairmont WV!
Just a little background... I had been looking into buying a handgun for quite some time, for use mostly as home defense, but for target shooting as well. However, I've had a few huge changes in my life over the last few years (divorce, lost my job, etc.), so I kind of put the whole thing on the back burner. Last summer, a friend of mine who helps teach a CCW class at a local range suggested that I take the class. I didn't have a gun at the time, but was offered to use my friend's Glock 19. I figured "what the hell" and took the class. I was immediately hooked. Shooting was an absolute blast and I became very aware of how important being able to protect yourself and your loved ones is in the current state of this world.

A month later I became the proud owner of a Smith & Wesson M&P 9c. I spent many evenings over the following months shooting at a local range and finally got the nerve to apply for a concealed carry license. A few days later, I had my license and immediately started carrying. I carry wherever I go (wherever I'm legally permitted) and have actually gotten a few other friends interested in shooting. They are now considering taking the CCW class and getting a gun of their own.

I'm excited to read, write, learn, argue, and laugh with all of you. Cheers!
    welcome from Fairmont wv
