First timer

I am in illinois and hopefully within the next month or so we will join the concelled carry states...who am I kidding they are going to take away our abililty to purchase...so with that said I will be purchasing my first gun within the next couple months. If you have any suggestions I am looking for a good reliable handgun in the 9mm to 40 range looking to spend about 200-350. So far berretas are what I am leaning towards and some of the glocks, g20/g22 gen 4 if I stretch my budget. Getting a safe for home with biolock first hense the budget limit. Welcome advise!

Welcome! I moved from Illinois in '09 and ended up in Florida in '11. What a difference with respect to gun attitudes. Although, I've had firearms for years, I'm also a first timer with respect to handguns. I have a Kahr CW9 on the way, choosen mainly as a CCW eventually for myself or my wife.
