    Another East Texan on the forum

    I have been reading a lot and decided to join in occasionally.

    I live in Jasper, Texas, retired, and am taking up hog hunting at 67 years of age. Never shot anything bigger than a rabbit in my life but I do like pork.

    I just finished my CHL course and put all the info in the mail this morning. Got my fingerprints and all that taken care of.

    For any fellow Texans, you can complete the CHL application online. You still have to go to authorized fingerprint company and send completed paperwork in but I think they can start the background check as soon as you apply online.

    BTW, I am less afraid of my fellow man than I am of my national government.

    Ahhh, I'd be a happy man if I could hog hunt in Texas all the time. I'm firmly convinced that I could put a dent in the hog population if I could just move back!

    Well hellooo Texas! I once told someone that if I wasn't a Kentuckian, I'd wanna' be from Tennessee. And if I wasn't from Tennessee, I'd wanna' be from Texas. 'Cause I've never heard anyone stand-up in a rowdy bar and loudly proclaim that "I'm from by-God-Vermont & I'll whip anybody in here who doesn't like it".

    (*No disrespect intended to any Vermonters on the forum, but it was damn funny when I said it years ago in Houston.)

    We're proud of our state, no doubt about it. When I lived in Florida I used to wear a shirt that said, in big letters, "F$&@ YOU IM FROM TEXAS" to watch the Longhorns play every Saturday. Got offered a lot of money for that shirt and I still have it. Lol
