Welcome from Massachusetts. Believe me, there will be no shortage of opinions when asking for recommendations for a carry gun. Good luck in sorting through it all. I'll just say find something that you find comfortable to shoot, is reliable (e.g., Smith and Wesson), concealable based on your body type and typical clothing (if you choose to conceal) and has the defensive power (knock down) that you want (e.g., 9mm+). Enjoy :)
